Frontenac State Park Gates

MnDOT Inventory Report

Located In: Florence Township, Goodhue County.

Constructed: 1925.

National Register: Not Eligible

A set of gates along the southwest side of modern U.S. 61/U.S. 63 near old Frontenac were once the gateway to the Munroe House, better known as "Bramble Haw". They were built in 1925 as part of the construction of the Munroe home (the first paved highway past the estate was coincidentally completed the same year).

The house has since been demolished. The gates now block public access to a service drive into Frontenac State Park.
