Comments:

  • The 1940 advance edition was the last of the McGill-Warner "yellow maps". The map issued later in 1940 featured a totally new format and cartography.
  • Although advance editions existed for previous years, the 1940 map is included here only because its format was different from the normal edition map issued later.
  • The "Advance Edition - Visit Minnesota in 1940" stamp can be seen just east of Lake of the Woods at the top of the map.
